Make your own handbag charm!

Another wonderful DIY site is PSIMadeThis.com with more accessory ideas you can try at home. P.S.- I Made This… is a movement. It’s a call to action to re-imagine, re-use and re-invent. I see it. I like it. I make it.
To create a chic bag charm, re-purpose broken or old jewlez, charms, pendants, pieces, basically anything fun you can get your hands on. Tie your bits and bobs onto string or cording and secure to a binder ring. Make sure you hang at different lengths to create a staggered effect. Clip onto your bag with a carabiner clip and you are one leading lucky charm lady!

Copper makes the silver harder, but gives it a tendency to tarnish, a darkening that occurs when sterling silver reacts with gases in the air or with other substances that it comes in contact with. This can transfer to your skin. Yuck! Not all Sterling Silver is created equal. Make sure that when you purchase Sterling Silver jewelry make sure it is .925, the highest quality available. This will ensure the only green you have is the envy of others checking out your new look!

August Trends!

Meredith Wendell Curvy Belt ($250) in Leopard
One of our favorite stylists—the lovely Ms. Laurie Trott—introduced us to this amazing line of belts, bags, and jewelry. We are so thrilled she did because we're quite smitten with the entire collection. Helmed by former Marc by Marc Jacobs accessory designer Meredith German and her husband Wendell, the duo use fine Italian leathers, loads of gorgeous colors, and stunning glass accents to create the quirky-cool pieces. Right now we're obsessed with this incredible suede waist belt in a very smart leopard print, but you should definitely check out the entire range when you get a chance!
Aldo Fall Bags
Everyone knows that Aldo makes darling shoes that are beloved by celebs and civilians alike, but if you aren't as well versed in their bags, now's the time to get familiar. This fall the brand is introducing dozens of darling styles that happen to be ultra-affordable too. We're particularly fond of their across-body options, like the Goetter ($45), which has an adjustable strap, and the messenger-style Hladik ($50), but there are so many cute pieces, you need to check out the entire collection.
Elizabeth and James Fall Shoes
As you no doubt know, we're mad about all things Elizabeth and James. While we're still swooning over the jewelry (the Across the Hand Bar Ring ($95) is amazing) and crush on the amazing outerwear (the Plush Overcoat ($695) is killing it), right now we're in a frenzy over the line's insane collection of fall shoes. Topping our list are the crazy-cool Stilt Lace-Up Wedge Ankle Boots ($485), but there are so many amazing options this season. The E-Gasp Buckle Boots ($489) in Brown Distress are also definitely noteworthy. In fact, we think these mid-calf boots are so fabulous—also available in black or chocolate brown leather—we just can't stop staring.
Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain ($24) in Lucky
A lip pencil is just a lip pencil—or so we though until we tried these new chubby crayons from the natural beauty gurus at Tarte. In addition to drastically boosting the moisture content of your lips by a whopping 6000% after 28 days of use (seriously), the stains are ultra-flattering and a delight to wear, thanks to a peppermint oil-infused formula. Bullet Girl .22 Winchester Rhodium Plated Bullet Necklace ($600)
Elegantly menacing: that's the description that popped into our heads the second we laid eyes on the new jewelry line Bullet Girl. Created by the Houston-based designer Jessica Meyer, the 30-piece collection is made from powder-free blanks plated in various metals like rhodium and 24k gold. The fact that they are, technically, real ammo means you can't wear these amazing pieces on a plane or pack them in your carry-on (checked luggage only!), but we think that just makes them all the more special. In addition to the necklace, you can arm yourself with rings, earrings, or bracelets—we love the .22 Bullet 24k Gold-Plate Bracelet ($400) and the 9 MM Rhodium-Plated Caps with CZ Bangle ($800)—for a dangerously chic look!
Carven
When Net-A-Porter.com began carrying this esteemed French fashion line last season, we couldn't help but be intrigued. We're always suckers for a backstory and Carven has an amazing one—the line was launched in 1945 and was originally supposed to be for petite women only—but the real reason we're so keen on this brand is because of its current designer: Guillaume Henry. The talented man joined the Carven team last year (previously he worked at Givenchy and Paule Ka) and has transformed the line by creating perfectly crafted pieces, like the beige Satin-Twill Ruffle Dress ($950), Wool-Flannel Cropped Pants ($440), and the Belted Wool-Blend Blazer ($1180). They're investment pieces for most people (including us), for sure, but they're also gorgeous enough to wear for a lifetime.

The insanely brilliant mastermind behind the compulsively fascinating website PSIMadeThis.com has just penned a book and it's a must buy for everyone! Comprised of over 25 amazing "inspired by" projects and featuring Domesek's killer step-by-step instructions, P.S. I Made This is ideal for anyone who loves fashion, likes customized things, or has a hint of crafty spirit (though none of these things are required to love it anyway, we promise).
